A new bear adventure begins

Mariola, August 29, 2023August 29, 2023

This has been a trip planned since before COVID hit the world and has been postponed three years in a row. That being said here we are in Vancouver in a cute little Air B&B with autumn colours starting to set in. Lucky for us the day starts with a lovely gentle drizzle, for which Vancouver is famous and it is much appreciated as it may bring some relief to the wildfires affected regions of BC.

We had a rocky start to this trip as a result of the wildfires that have been sweeping through the North West Territories and their capital Yellowknife, our much delayed and awaited trip to the far north tundra of the NWT was canceled 5 days before we left. Everyone seems to be safe there and the lodge has survived the fires but sadly it will have to wait for another time for us to go. We are now heading to the Yukon instead, our check in for the flight to Whitehorse advises as part of the security questions that bear spray is not allowed on board, Phew, we are only planning to get that once we arrive in Whitehorse😅😂

Our first night is accented by a delicious meal at The Burrow with André selecting the enchilada stuffed full of an amazing walnut lentil combo and salad and I get the burrito filled with pinto beans and roasted yams plus a generous serving of guacamole. Tummies content we hit the sack to adjust to the new time.
